As a parent we all know that Halloween can be a crazy time at home. The kids get so excited as the time nears. Special decorations in the stores; tons of candy are lining the grocery aisles and costumes are the talk at the dinner table. I cringe when I think about all that candy and crazy behavior from the sugar highs! Trying to limit the intake of sugar on that special night can be tough! We have a fun idea that you can incorporate this year with just a bit of planning.
I used to always make my kids a special treat bag that included a few snacks and treats so they would stay out of the bowl for the trick-or-treaters that night. Why not grab some of our delicious Buffalo Snack Sticks and create a healthy treat bag for your kids that will make them feeling great and hopefully limit the amount of candy they eat door to door.
It is simple to grab some cute treat bags or even a disposable glove and fill it with some healthy treats like our snack sticks, raisins, fruit snacks, crackers and other healthy treats. Decorate it with festive stickers and ribbons and your treats will be a tasty change for your little kids. They may not even miss the candy – well, we can always hope!
