Recipe Idea: Smoky Queso Omelet


  • 3 Eggs
  • Smoked Cheddar or Pepper Cheese
  • Olive Oil
  • Butter
  • Diced Tomatoes
  • Spinach or Kale
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Heat up olive oil and butter in a frying pan. Beat and pour the eggs in. Grate the smoked cheddar cheese over the eggs, add some diced tomatoes, greens, a pinch of salt and fresh ground black pepper.

    I recently ordered the new smoked peperoncino asiago pepper cheese, wanted to try it because I LOVE the smoked cheddar… Wow, what a flavor explosion! This cheese is HOT. More spice than I anticipated, which was fine, because I like it hot, but be warned, this cheese is not for weak tastebuds! It’s got a harder texture than the cheddar, which was nice for shredding. I brought it on a backcountry yurt trip and shared it with my friends. We shredded it over the somewhat bland backpacking food we brought. Everyone raved and came back for more. This cheese still has that great hickory smoked flavor that the other Mountain America cheeses have, that’s my favorite part.

    Oh my creamy YUM! Smoked ‘cheesy’ so good. Gave as gift and he made the mistake of sharing and voila…all gone. Going to be needing more soon.

    This cheese is amazingly good! What a gourmet treat, I didn’t know smoked cheese tasted so good. Perfect to serve for entertaining – I am going to do a jerky variety plate with Mountain America’s smoked cheeses for a holiday party, the jerky and cheese compliment each other well.
